The New GentleMan
2017 The House draws inspiration from the original 1970s fragrance to propose a new creation, entirely reinvented for the modern-day gentleman.
But what does it mean to be a 21st century gentleman? First of all, it signifies living elegantly and being decidedly open to others. But doesn’t it also mean expressing a nuanced, subtle version of masculinity, in a seductive mixture of self-assurance and finesse? Strong and sensitive in equal measure, the gentleman as seen by Givenchy is a free, audacious spirit who doesn’t conform to clichés. A hedonist who never deprives himself – or those around him – of pleasure, and always acts with generosity.
The English actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the new Givenchy Gentleman, the cool and sexy archetypr whose masculinity doesn't preclude sensitivity ir generosity. In short, he is a man who never disappoints.
He not only entertains as an actor, but he’s also a talented singer and dancer. He learned everything from an early age through years of training that paved the way for his deserved success onscreen.
After getting noticed in several television and cinema roles, he played the leading part in the biography of John Lennon Nowhere Boy in 2009. In 2010, he excelled as a comic superhero in the blockbuster Kick-Ass, and in its sequel three years later. But he is unquestionably skilled at the art of changing registers. He starred alongside Glenn Close in Albert Nobbs in 2011 and then joined the cast of Oliver Stone’s Savages in 2012, as well as portrayed Count Vronsky in Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina the same year.
His latest feats include his role in Nocturnal Animals by Tom Ford, for which he won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in January 2017 and was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. He also plays the lead role in Doug Liman’s latest film, The Wall.
